Mud Art Company

MUD

The company’s first production, Mud, is an artistic exploration of the element that combines earth and water. The work was developed through extensive artistic research, involving dancers spending time with the material, engaging in tactile play, and investigating its connection to the human body.

mud seeks to activate the philosophy that this substance holds endless possibilities, acting as both a physical medium and a spiritual guide. The performance is structured as a ritual, where dancers apply mud to their bodies, entering a state of deep concentration. Moving with a deliberate, slow rhythm, they condition the body to listen and self-heal, a process the company defines as “mudment.” This production became foundational to The Mud Art Company’s ongoing quest for healing and connection to African roots.
